2 out of 3 of us could see better without even realising it.
Having the best possible eyesight is essential, for enjoying those precious moments with friends and family, or getting the best potential out of your working day.
If your employees’ use a computer screen in their work, or need protective eyewear to do their job, under the 1992 Health and Safety Regulations, the welfare of their eyesight is your responsibility.
The Boots Opticians Corporate Eyecare scheme can ensure that your legal requirements are met, whilst offering a benefit that many employees value highly as part of their employee benefits scheme. You’re obliged to provide the following for employees who regularly use VDU (computer) screens at work:
•A full eye examination from a qualified Optometrist
•Subsequent eye examinations at regular intervals as specified by the examining Optometrist (normally every 2 years)
•Basic VDU glasses (this could mean single vision, bifocal or varifocal glasses) if they are found necessary for VDU work
If your employees need protective eyewear to do their job, you’re also responsible for providing them with basic safety glasses - this could mean single vision, bifocal or varifocal glasses, if they were found necessary for work undertaken.
Benefits to you and your employees’
Many adults haven’t had an eye examination since leaving school, and are often surprised to find the difference that prescription glasses can make to their lives. As an employer, you could benefit from your employees’ increased productivity at work, being safer on the road - especially for your company car drivers, and better safety in the workplace for those who use machinery.
As part of the Boots corporate eyecare scheme, your employees’ will be assured of the very best in professional care and service from our nationwide chain of stores. They’ll receive a full eye examination and advice on eye health – and as an eye examination can give early warning signs of health issues, such as high blood pressure, they’ll benefit from much more than a sight test.
Trust Boots Opticians to make life easy
We know you need a simple way to provide eyecare to your employees’ and Boots Opticians want to make life easy for you, and help you control costs.
Our scheme is so easy to use, with nothing to pay upfront – you don’t have to buy any costly vouchers in advance. You simply supply a Boots Corporate Eyecare voucher to your employee and leave the rest to us. You’re then invoiced monthly for any eye examinations or VDU glasses/safety glasses that you’ve bought. You’ll save money on the usual high street cost of an eye examination too – so it’s a much cheaper way of providing eyecare for your employees than reimbursing them through their expenses.
